Visitors who happen upon our little corner of the Underdark never leave disenchanted. Currently as a Port City, Acanthus is home to a variety of shops and creatures. Along with the drow, Dragons, Goblins, Orc, Dwarves, Elves, Humans, Fae, and even the occasional Demon find themselves wandering about. In the market for cursed items? The Drow of House Acanthus find themselves traveling to the surface and on to neighboring Underdarks! Intersim is both encouraged and expected.Â

Malice, the youngest of her siblings, attended to her studies as well as most. She had a hunger for learning and knowledge. This would set the incipiency of her reign.
Malice fancied a young male by the name of Dar'ien in her young adult years. He had been trained both as a mage and as a warrior. As a battle mage he would come to meet her expectations and Malice was permitted to keep him. The outcome of their first coupling came Triplet sons. She kept one and the others were taken to be sacrificed as she felt Lolth would want.
Her first born son was given the name Zak'n Dax. His features and strength rivaled his father's giving him favor above all the rest of his later born siblings by his mother. Zak would later become the Acanthus ambassador dealing in all things courtly and solving rival relations.
First born daughter Tay'Vierolin emerged defiant and often found herself at whips' mercy. Dar'ien lived just long enough to be named as House Acanthus' first Patron.
Tay had been over taken by a being of the Demon Web pits, sharing her being with such a beast created an interesting turn in her house position. Her father insisted she be trained as an assassin. She would later rid herself of the unwanted guest within, taking command of her mother's armies and finding Lolth's unwavering favor for herself and her house.
Dar'ien lived just long enough to be named as House Acanthus' first Patron. He had been drawn away on mission after mission and one day.. never returned. Many males have since taken this title, however brief it had been for each. Malice birthed 22 children with only 4 being male.
Malice's mother had stepped down preferring a daughter to take her place as Matron. After many disputes and foul played instances Malice did stand above the rest of her sisters to take the seat of power. On this day, House Cantha became House Acanthus.

Time drifted and Malice's enormous explosion that naught but death and destruction would follow any who happened in the path of those who opened one. Malice used these boxes when she had at long last been given permission by the Goddess Lolth. Her enemies had plagued her enough and so had to be taught a lesson. The boxes were delivered in the dead of night and opened one by one as the suns light touched the distant ocean waters. Never enough time to warn the next many perished. Acanthus returned to their underdark city in complete uncontested victory. Malice remembers what they did of course.. and the few that survived.
Tragedy fell upon the unsuspecting Acanthus city when without warning or preface, an earthquake caused unimaginable destruction to the realm. The quake was a natural disaster born of the land and not caused by any one thing. Both the great Acanthus city and the surface realms above were horrendously damaged. It was this that caused an enormous change for House Acanthus. Malice left the city in ruin after communing with her reign did gain in power and momentum. Alliances with other houses would come to solidify a great many victories over surface and cavern communities who refused to bow before Lolthian drow dominion.
Acanthus was more than a city of drow. Deep dragons, Goblins and Orc strengthened their ranks. Malice kept a collection of specifically talented beings and with technology and innovation, her newly discovered talents gained quite the attention from her peers.
Acanthus became the center of many trials and tribulations. Drowning in intrigue they twisted their webs and stretched their legs far. Each unsuspecting being who crossed Malice met with a most violent condition. True terror reigned when she took to the surface with her drowlings in tow. Respected and feared by both Light and Shadow. Her greatest calamity caused came in the form of a small red colored box. The box was a newly constructed mechanism created by the Acanthus Goblins. It contained a powder that when sparked by fire would cause such an enormous explosion that naught but death and destruction would follow any who happened in the path of those who opened one.
